The Laundry Complex was built and equipped with modern laundry machines and started operation in January 2007. It is responsible for the provision of cleaned, infectious free linen and protective clothing to various wards and units of the hospital and its nearby community through commercial services.
The Laundry Complex is comprised of two main units:
The Laundering Unit: In the Laundering unit, there are two high capacity washing machines (washer extractor), two large driers and one large calendaring machine which, washes, dries and presses linen supplied from various wards and clinics of the Centre.
The Tailoring Unit: The Tailoring Unit, on the other hand, sews protective clothing that are used by both the medical personnel and patients within the centre and it has two modern industrial sewing machines.
Laundary offer services to the Centre seven days of the week from 8:00 am – 7:00 pm daily. Hospital linens are delivered three times in a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) while commercial linens are delivered within a maximum of three days from the reciept of the linens.
For the maintenance of the machines, a certified qualified technical company is contracted to provide the maintenance services.
