The Legal Unit, by the Centre's Organogram is under the Office of the Medical Director. It is headed by an Asst. Director who is a lawyer. The Unit provides general legal advice and legal guidance to Management. It is also responsible for documentation preparation and drafting of agreement.
Specifically, the Legal Unit is responsible for the following:

• Ensuring the provision of appropriate legal advice on diverse range of substantive and procedural questions of law arising in the adminstrative functioning of the Centre.
• Drafting of major/minor contracts agreements and other legal documents as may be required by the Centre, or a Department/Unit thereof.
• Serving on various ad hoc standing committees/ investigative panels.
• Any other related tasks/duties as may be assigned from time to time.
