ESTABLISHMENT

Federal Medical Centre, Azare, is a Federal Tertiary Health Institution located in Azare, Bauchi State, Nigeria. It is a fully-functional 300-bedded hospital with state-of-the-art medical equipment and committed personnel. The mandate of the Centre is to provide excellent healthcare services, training and research using professional staff and modern technology.

The Centre is a parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Health, established under the University Teaching Hospitals [Reconstitutions of Boards] Act, Cap 462 on 6th June, 2000. It inherited the structure of the former General Hospital Azare for its takeoff on 21st October, 2000.

STRUCTURE

The Centre is comprised of two main Directorates, the Administration and Clinical Services, under which various departments and units exist for effective service delivery.

In addition, the Center was established on the premises of the state General Hospital and all services were provided there for over a decade. Then the Permanent Site along the Maiduguri-Potiskum Road was developed enough and the clinical departments began to move there towrds the end of the second decade. The first to move were the Radiology and Paediatrics departments.

SERVICES

We provide modern medical services, investigations and diagnostic services over a wide range of the branches of the Healthcare field:
Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gyanecology and Paediatrics.
